Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) to hold nationwide convocation
ISLAMABAD: The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will hold the first convocation for its graduating class in all the main cities across the country, through a video-conferencing system, according to a press release.
AIOU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Nazir Ahmed Sangi announced this after a local newspaper published a report saying that AIOU’s degree holders were “looking for convocation”.
The AIOU vice chancellor constituted a high-level committee to arrange all the requirements needed to hold the said convocation. The committee would also submit its recommendations and suggestions to Prof Dr Sangi.
As many as seventeen thousand students will be awarded degrees while gold and silver medals will be distributed to graduates securing top position in various programmes.
“It will be ensured that the maximum number of students participate in the convocation, which will be held across the country,” the vice chancellor said.
